Our Technology

Cutting edge Technology
MELC acquires the most advanced, cutting edge, technology to ensure accurate and safe results for the patients stepping in for treatment. At the same time continuous research is going on at the clinic to improve patient satisfaction through technological advancements. Some of our highly specialized technology is presented below:

LASER

Pentacam
Pentacam is a device which permits a panoramic tour through the anterior chamber of the eye without invasive operation or direct contact with the cornea. It uses a sophisticated camera system that scans (cornea, anterior chamber, iris, and lens). This technology shows pictures which the patient can understand immediately. It displays a huge information concerning condition of the eye allow viewing all the structures mentioned above under high magnification with great detail. Pentacam is an important tool in refractive surgery. It helps us to rule out any type of corneal problems that would be a contraindication for laser correction.

Corneal topography: (photokeratoscopy or videokeratography)
Corneal topography, also known as corneal mapping, measures this important surface giving us a color coded display containing detailed information about the shape of your cornea. For you, the patient, it is a brief, painless, non-contact procedure that photographs your eye's surface using ordinary light. The greatest advantage of the computerized corneal topography is that it can detect conditions too subtle or invisible to even the most thorough conventional testing.

Wavefront Aberrometer
Advance technology that provides a method for measuring optical distortion in the eye. This measuring is unique to each eye just as a finger print is unique to each person. Wavefront analysis opens the door for measuring these formerly inaccessible elements that impact vision so that we can apply new, very accurate, corrective treatments.

Heidelberg Retinal Tomography
The Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT) is a laser scanning system for imaging the anterior and posterior segments of the eye which include:
  • Optic nerve head: Representing the most current advancement in the management of glaucoma.
  • Retina Module: simple method of evaluating macular health.
  • Cornea Module offers clinicians one of the most detailed views of cornea structure and pathology.
These are just a few examples of our state of the art equipment, which we add on to frequently to ensure that we can offer the best and latest cutting edge technology for you to benefit.
