PTK, PRK

PTK
PTK or Phototherapeutic Keratectomy is focused on nearsightedness or farsightedness, but much less laser energy is required. It is a new modality in the treatment of a number of superficial corneal disorders.

PRK
Photorefractive Keratectomy or PRK is a refractive surgery used to reshape the cornea. PRK was the first surgical procedure developed using a laser to reshape the cornea, by sculpting. In PRK, the top layer of the cornea, called the epithelium, is scraped away to expose the stromal layer underneath.
